I Can Write

In Room 6 we have been practising our Story Writing a lot.  Here is a story that I wrote.  I wrote it all by myself.

Volcano Fever

Over the last few weeks lots of the students in our classroom have been very interested in volcanoes.  They wanted to know how they erupted, how many volcanoes there are in Auckland and much, much more.  To celebrate our fact finding missions and new learning we decided to "build" our own volcanoes using a plastic bottle, white vinegar, water, food colouring and baking soda.

What Next?

Today in Reading time we read a story called "What Next".  Students then went away and drew a picture about the story using Kidpix. Lakeisha did a great job drawing a baby chick.

Writing my Numbers

We have been practicing writing our numbers in Room 6.  This week we had a try at writing the numbers we knew all by ourselves.

Making Afghan Biscuits

This week at school we baked some afghan biscuits.  We worked in groups and we had to take turns and share.  When the biscuits were baked our teacher put icing on them and then we ate them.  They were crunchy and chocolatey and awesome!

Welcome to School

Welcome to school and welcome to Room 6.  We work hard in our classroom and do lots of fun and interesting things.  It's great to see that Lakeisha has settled in so well.
